Quantitative ETF Trader – Fixed Income
Prop Trading / Market Making firm is seeking a Quantitative Trader to join their Fixed Income ETF team. The role involves working closely with senior traders to support existing trading strategies with the growth potential to design and build your own trading strategies.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a high achiever with a strong quantitative background, ideally with experience in Fixed Income Markets or Fixed Income ETFs. They should be very comfortable working in kdb/q or Python. This person will have a lot of initiative, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and thrive in a competitive environment.
Qualifications
- 1+ years working as Quantitative Trader with Fixed Income or Fixed Income ETF products.
- B.S./M.S. from a leading university in a quantitative discipline such as math, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or economics with a GPA over 3.6/4.0.
- Deep understanding and ability in mathematics and statistics.
- Strong programming skills in kdb/q and/or Python.

Prior to joining Banyak Group, Marcos spent over five years in executive search focused mostly on commodities across Latin America. His commodities background remains a core part of his work today, particularly as he supports clients active across energy, metals, and agri markets, including derivatives and paper trading.
Naturally curious and drawn to international environments, Marcos has always been interested in markets, different cultures, and learning how things work. He learned English from an early age and holds a BBA from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. He is based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Oban Cooper
Director of Prop Trading & Technology Recruitment
Oban is the Director of Prop Trading & Technology Recruitment, joining Banyak Group in 2022. He is responsible for leading retained search practices for Prop Trading Firms, Crypto Trading Firms, and Market Makers, while cross-functionally working with Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, and Family Offices. Additionally, he operates as a software developer building proprietary tools and infrastructure to optimize our recruitment efficiency.
Prior to joining Banyak Group, Oban was a licensed Private Investigator in the State of Florida with one of the world’s largest full-service investigation firms, CoventBridge Group. He has also held positions in sales, web design, and customer service, and spent most of his early career as an entrepreneur in Ecommerce.
Oban holds a Masters in Public Administration, a Masters in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, all from the University of Central Florida. He prides himself on being a versatile talent and a curious mind. Oban currently resides in Orlando, FL, with dreams of owning a farm.
